Zhongshan held a ceremony for the signing and launching of the "Zhongshan-Hong Kong Cross-border Real Estate Registration and Financial Services Business Cooperation Agreement" on May 6. The agreement is a follow up to the previous Zhongshan-Macao Cross-border Real Estate Registration and Financial Services Business Cooperation Agreement, facilitating the handling of cross-border real estate mortgage registration services without traveling between Zhongshan and Hong Kong, Macao.
Due to local banking windows and online processing, Hong Kong residents can now complete the entire real estate registration to buy houses in Zhongshan. The process takes up to one working day from acceptance to issuance, reducing the number of trips Hong Kong enterprises and residents must make for cross-border house purchase, improving efficiency, and saving time and money.
