Good news came from the second China Children's Poetry Teaching and Writing Seminar recently organized in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Jucheng Primary School of Zhongshan City was honored as the National Poetry Education Base. It is reported that only 7 schools in Guangdong Province obtained the honor, and Jucheng Primary School is the only one in Zhongshan.

In September 2008, Jucheng Primary School introduced "children's poetry education" into classrooms, thus setting a precedent for children's poetry education in Guangdong. The school also founded the province's first children's poetry society, the Chrysanthemum Children's Poetry Society. Its students have published more than 3,000 poems in over 120 newspapers and periodicals in China, and 15 young poets, including He Leyan, Wan Xia, Mo Xinyu, Mao Pengyi and He Ying, have officially published their own collections of poems.

At present, Jucheng Primary School's "Poetry Education" program has become a highlight of curriculum reform and a model of characteristic education in Guangdong Province, and a characteristic brand of children's poetry education in China.
