The 2024 Greater Bay Area (Zhongshan) Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament took place on June 10, also the Dragon Boat Festival. A total of 37 teams from 12 GBA cities took part in the competition on the Qijiang River in Zhongshan.
The event attracted nearly 100,000 on-site spectators and over 13 million online viewers.
After three hours of competition, Zhongshan's Nanxia Long Dragon Boat Team clinched the first place of the men's traditional dragon boat 500m straight race, securing the eleventh consecutive championship in this competition.
Dongguan's Hele Women's Dragon Boat Team and Xiangyang Dragon Boat Club claimed the titles of the women's international standard dragon boat 500m straight race and the men's international standard dragon boat 500m straight race.
