On 28th January, 1984, at the critical point of reforming and opening up, the general designer of the reforming and opening of our country, Deng Xiaoping visited Zhongshan and gave a clear instruction “Never go backwards” while he climbed the Mt. Luosanmei in Sanxiang Town. So for many Zhongshan people, this special day marks the nation’s determination for the reforming and opening up.
After 27 years, in memory of Deng Xiaoping, the Theme Park on Mt. Luosanmei inaugurated and at the spot where Deng stopped for an overlooking, a 2.8-meter-tall bronze statue of Deng, with firm and affectionate eyes looking far, was officially unveiled.
The Construction of Luosanmei Park expresses Zhongshan people’s respect, love and deep yearning for Deng Xiaoping, also the determination and confidence to push forward the reforming and opening up.
The bronze statue, which is 2.8 meters tall and weighs 3 tons, donated by Huo Yingdong Family, is officially unveiled at Luosanmei Park on 28th.
