The former Minzhong Service Area of the Guangzhou-Macao Expressway Nansha-Zhuhai section has been recently renamed as the Zhongshan Service Area.

The Zhongshan Service Area is undergoing expansion renovation. Highlighting the concept of "Lingnan water town + shopping block", it will be built into a characteristic service zone that showcases water town culture, intangible cultural heritage handicrafts and cultural experience.

After renovation, the Zhongshan Service Area will have a total of 905 parking spots, including 697 for small cars, and 80 charging piles for new energy vehicles. Additionally, the toilet will be expanded, with additional baby care rooms and unisex restrooms.
