The Forestry Administration of Guangdong Province recently announced the list of "2021 Guangdong Nature Education Bases". Zhongshan's Cuiheng National Wetland Park made the list.
Cuiheng National Wetland Park, located on the Hengmen Waterway in Tsuihang New District, has a planned area of 625.6 hectares, including 243.9 hectares of land area and 395.44 hectares of wetland area, with a wetland rate of 63.21%.
The park consists of both coastal wetland and constructed wetland, including such 5 wetland types as estuary waters, mangrove forests, silt beaches, intertidal salty marshes and paddy fields.
The park also provides a habitat for international migratory birds and forms a migration channel together with wetlands in Nansha District and the Qi'ao Island. The unique mangrove forests and the abundant biological resources in the park make it an ideal place for scientific research and nature education.
