The large musical "Bright Red Kapok", co-created by the Zhongshan Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervisory Committee and the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, is set to premiere on May 17 (Monday) at the Zhongshan Culture & Art Center.
The musical highlights the glorious deeds of Yang Yin and depicts the history of early Chinese revolutionaries represented by Yang Yin who defended his beliefs and pursued truth with his life.
On May 9, the cast arrived at the Zhongshan Culture & Art Center to prepare the stage arrangement and rehearse for the musical.
In March this year, the cast visited the former residence of Yang Yin and various residences in Cuiheng Village to learn about the heroic deeds of Yang Yin and the history and culture of Zhongshan.
"The stories of Yang Yin are so impressive that more attention should be paid to the emotional experience of the character," said Zhong Hao, general director of the musical and president of the China Musical Association.
