Over 100 coaches from Guangxi, Shanxi, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Hainan, and Guangdong gathered in Zhongshan, hometown of Liang Fuchu who is known as "the father of China's baseball" , to attend the 3rd preliminary part-time coach training course of 2017 held by China Baseball Association. The opening ceremony witnessed the settling of China's high-level baseball and softball backup player base in Dongsheng-- "China's Baseball and Softball Small Town".
It has been 10 years since Dongsheng Town established Zhongshan's first team at Dongsheng Senior High School in 2006. The baseball game has then been popularized in all the 20 middle and primary schools in the Town. According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 500 young baseball players in Dongsheng Town.
