With an increasing number of dengue cases being reported in Guangdong Province, Zhongshan Municipal government recently issued an emergency notice on mosquito control and eradication. According to the notice, two mosquito-eradication campaigns will be launched across the city respectively on Sep. 26 and 29 and all the government departments, institutes, enterprises, shopping centers, residential areas and families are required to help wipe out mosquitoes.

The notice orders that activities be organized to publicize the damage of mosquito-borne diseases, the living and reproducing habits of mosquitoes and to strengthen people’s ability to prevent and fight the infectious diseases. Residents are required to stay alert and collaborate with the government in the prevention work.
