According to the 9th Plenary Session of the 14th Zhongshan Municipal Committee of the CPC held on October 20, Zhongshan will roll out a major project with the aim of revitalizing its industrial development.

Zhongshan has a new plan to build a "2+1+4" development pattern for key industrial platforms that cover a total area of 470 square kilometers. "2" refers to Torch Development Zone (Industrial Park) and Tsuihang New District (Industrial Park), "1" refers to Qijiang New Town, and "4"refers to four 10,000-mu-large (666.7 hectares) characteristic industrial park areas in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with regional influence.

Torch Development Zone will focus on innovative development, building high quality intelligent manufacturing parks, planning a number of competitive innovation platforms and new-type research and development institutions, and actively undertaking new technologies and products with practical prospect.

Tsuihang New District will focus on high-end development, speeding up the construction of an innovation zone for international cooperation in biological medicine, introducing high-end industrial projects in such areas as headquarters economy, technology finance, biological medicine, artificial intelligence and digital economy, modern cultural tourism and etc, and developing new industries, new business formats and new business models.

Qijiang New Town will focus on quality improvement, actively introducing key projects in such areas as headquarters economy, modern commerce and trade, financial services and cultural creativity products, building benchmarking public services and large-scale cultural tourism projects, and improving its ability of providing high-quality production and social services.
