No trip to Zhongshan is complete without a visit here. Situated in Cuiheng Village, Nanlang Town, the 140-thousand-square-meter museum is a national protection unit of cultural relics, consisting of Exhibition of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Exhibition of Cuiheng Folk Houses, Exhibition of Cuiheng Farming and Exhibition of Yangyin, famous leader of the Chinese workers' movement and democratic revolutionary Lu Haodong. Themed on Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the social environment where he was born and raised, the museum provides some truly fascinating insights into the history and folk customs at that time.
Exhibition of Dr. Sun Yat-sen includes the Former Residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The Former Residence was built under the guidance of Dr. Sun Yat-sen himself with the money from his eldest brother, Sun Mei. The building is a combination of Guangdong-style brick-and-tile house and western folk house.
Exhibition of Cuiheng Folk Houses shows the various folk customs in Cuiheng Village and the Pearl River Delta region, and provides a three-dimensional reappearance of the life of different social standings at that time in Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s birthplace.
